The Pentagon will work with the U.S. Congress to get approval for the request for additional support. In any case, bipartisan support for Ukraine remains.
This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at a press conference on Monday during a visit to Kyiv, Censor.NET reports with reference to European Pravda.
"I continue to see bipartisan support in both houses of Congress, and I know that there are some things that we need to continue to work on to get approval for an additional request, and we will continue to work with Congress on that," Austin said.
Austin acknowledged that some members of Congress "have valid questions" regarding support for Ukraine, "which we will answer."
"What is happening here (in Ukraine – ed.) is important not only for Ukraine, but also for the whole world. It is about the rules-based international order. It's about not living in a world where a dictator can one day wake up and decide to annex the property of his peaceful neighbor," he explained.
