Members of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, known as the Ramstein format, have allocated more than $80 billion to help Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"We are here today because we share a vision of a free, open, prosperous and secure world. And that's why I'm proud that this historic Contact Group has committed more than $80 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the Kremlin launched its unjustified invasion. And I am proud of this strong commitment. Our unity sends a clear signal to Putin that he will not be able to wait us out or win a contest of wills," Austin said.

On the eve of winter, he called on the Contact Group to provide Ukraine with air defense capabilities to protect its people.

"Just days after my visit to Kyiv, Putin's forces launched a new barrage of missile strikes on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine. And they did it to damage Ukraine's energy system. Russia's attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure could mean the suffering and death of countless innocent Ukrainian citizens. But I remain more confident than ever that Ukrainian people will remain resilient in the face of adversity," Austin said.
