Lack of Western assistance may force Ukraine to negotiate with Russia - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis

Ukraine risks being unwittingly drawn into negotiations with Russia unless the allies provide Kyiv with the weapons and ammunition it needs to win the war

This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis,  Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

Kyiv's lack of missile systems and ammunition, as well as a months-long decision-making process in the EU, could put Ukraine in a position in which it will have no choice but to ask for peace, the Lithuanian minister said, stressing that "this will not be Ukraine's choice."

"Ukraine, which we know, and Ukraine, which we will help while we breathe, will never negotiate with terrorists. But the reality may be just that, "Landsbergis said.

He expressed disappointment that US assistance is blocked by the Republicans, and the EU is not able to provide Kyiv with enough shells: "It looks comical when the DPRK helps Russia more than the EU helps Ukraine".

A few days ago, Landsbergis at the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union called calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine now "a shameful proposal," comparing it with how to feed a bear and invite him to return later.
