On 30 November 2023, the SAPO prosecutors served notice of suspicion to four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal who were caught taking a bribe of USD 35,000 for deciding to cancel the seizure of property.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SAPO press service.

The actions of the suspects are classified under the Part 3 of the Article 28, the Part 4 of the Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

We remind that on 29 November, SAPO prosecutors and NABU detectives exposed four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal for receiving an undue benefit of USD 35,000 for making a decision to cancel the seizure of property.

It was established that on 28 November, an "intermediary judge" received a bribe from a representative of a private company for satisfying a complaint against a local court ruling to arrest aircrafts. After receiving the money, the judge kept USD 10,000 for himself and transferred USD 25,000 to his colleagues who had made the decision. On 29 November, the $25,000 was distributed among all members of the panel of judges who conducted the appeal hearing. During searches of the judges' places of business and residence, detectives seized the bribe money.

According to media reports, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Court of Appeal Viktor Hlynianyi, judges Yuriy Slyva, Vyacheslav Dziubin and Ihor Pallennyk were caught on bribes for the decision to lift the seizure of property in the case of former Motor Sich CEO Vyacheslav Boguslaev.
