Border blockade by Polish carriers delays volunteer aid for Ukrainian army - Reuters

Due to protests by Polish carriers at the border, volunteers helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces have faced delays in the delivery of important drones, electronics and pickup trucks.

According to Censor.NET, citing the EP, this was reported to Reuters by representatives of foundations and businesses that support the Armed Forces.

Thus, the head of the Come Back Alive Foundation, Taras Chmut, said that dozens of night vision systems and pickup trucks, as well as hundreds of drones purchased by the foundation, had been stuck at the border for several weeks. The foundation is trying to negotiate with the Polish authorities for the aid to pass through unhindered, as Kyiv has no choice but to import many of the necessary items from abroad.

"Pick-up trucks all come from abroad, night vision kits all come from abroad... The FPV drones come from abroad, and it (the protest) is slowing down our work," Chmut said.

The protests at the border are also affecting manufacturers of military equipment, said Viktor Dolhopyatov, who runs the non-profit Engineering Corps, which produces various types of equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"If the blockade continues, it can become and is already becoming a big problem," he added.

The border blockade has delayed deliveries of parts for machines at his plant, as well as components for power supplies used in drone engines and radios.

According to him, truckers who allow military cargo to pass through often do not do so with dual-use goods to support the war effort. A potential way around the blockade is to transport goods in regular cars rather than trucks, but this is much more expensive.
