Kamyshyn: There are agreements with two US companies on joint production of 155 calibre ammunition in Ukraine
Ukraine has reached an agreement with two leading US companies to jointly produce 155 calibre ammunition in Ukraine.
The Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin said this during a telethon, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"There are long-term solutions, but they are very important for us. This is the decision to produce ammunition, primarily 155 calibre. We have agreements with two leading American companies on joint production of 155 calibre ammunition in Ukraine. The implementation of these projects will take years," he said.
According to Kamyshyn, the process of producing 155 calibre ammunition will take "at least two, maximum three years."
"To start this production, we need the technology that our partners have. Ukraine has never produced these calibres, you know that. Therefore, the sooner we start, the sooner we will have these solutions and they will work for the Defence Forces," he explained.
