President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said he could not dissolve the Verkhovna Rada because of the MPs’ disagreement, as elections cannot be held during the war.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the President's press conference.

The President was asked what he could and should do when individual MPs and officials use power in their own interests, not for the benefit of society.

"All statesmen should be a moral example. There is no such thing, I agree with you here. What can I do as president? I cannot dismiss them, because then there will be elections, and elections cannot be held during the war," Zelensky replied.

According to him, to solve this problem by holding elections, legislation should be changed.

"This is all that can be done with MPs," the president explained.
