Ukrainian manufacturers can meet need of AFU for armored vehicles on their own, - Belbas, CEO of "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles"

Ukrainian cars are 20-30% cheaper than foreign competitors.
This was stated in an interview with "Economic Truth" by Vladislav Belbas, General Director of "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" LLC, Censor.NET informs.
According to him, there are currently more foreign vehicles at the front than Ukrainian ones, but with a long-term order, Ukrainian manufacturers are able to cover the need for armored vehicles on their own.
"Our car is 20-30% cheaper than foreign competitors. To withdraw money abroad today, buying similar more expensive cars, is shortsighted, "Belbas believes.
As the general director of "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" said, now there is a tendency on the market to facilitate armored vehicles.
"The vehicle can be destroyed by ATGMs just like any other armored vehicle, so there is no point in making it 20 tons. Rather, it should move faster so that it cannot be hit at all," he explains.
To protect the vehicles from FPV drones, the company is considering installing domed electronic warfare systems of domestic production.
According to Belbas, "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" is currently fully covering the Ministry of Defense's need for 120 mm mortars.
"Everything in our mortar is Ukrainian, except for the NATO sight, which we import. Now we fully cover the needs of the Ministry of Defense and additionally supply them to charitable foundations and military units. We can say that we have reached the peak of our production capacity with these mortars," he adds.
The CEO of "Ukrainian Armored Vehicles" also shared his plans for the next year.
"To establish itself as the main Ukrainian manufacturer of mortar ammunition and expand the range of calibers. Significantly expand the production of "Novator" vehicles and launch an updated "Varta" vehicle. I hope that the air defense system, in the production of which we are involved, will be put into production. We have high hopes for the self-propelled gun "Bohdana". I hope that we will start producing 10 cabins per month," said Belbas.
