The situation in the south remains difficult. The occupiers have increased the use of FPV drones with fragmentation ammunition up to 40 times, and enemy attacks continue.
This was stated on the air of the telethon by Nataliia Humeniuk, a spokeswoman for the OC "South", Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"The situation remains tense because the enemy's attacks do not stop and are massive, including daily attacks, which are constantly felt by residents of the right bank. Because the enemy on the left is trying to use everything it can get its hands on so far.
The enemy has intensified the use of drones, and the number of FPV drones has increased many times over. And now we can record that the use of fragmentation munitions has increased up to 40 times. Previously, we recorded 12 or 17 such drops per day, but now we have recorded 36, and not all of them have been counted yet," noted Humeniuk.
She also noted that the enemy has difficulty using artillery, so it is bringing in heavy equipment such as MLRS to inflict maximum damage on the residents of the right bank.
She reminded that the night was restless due to the enemy attack, especially in Odesa, where a high-rise building and a three-story house came under fire.
"There are a lot of victims there, a person died in a three-story building, the rubble is still being cleared, and the rescue operation is underway. 23 people have been helped by rescuers and managed to get them out of a difficult situation. More than 20 people have already asked for help. This flow is virtually unstoppable, people are coming forward as they recover from the shock, and the crimes of the Russians are being recorded," the spokeswoman said.
Answering the question whether Kherson should prepare for such attacks, Humeniuk noted that there is no critical change in the enemy's tactics - they are once again using mixed and massive attacks.
"We warned that it is quite obvious that the enemy resorted to massive attacks without waiting for the cold weather, as they say, because there is still a sense of the New Year approaching and preparations for the holidays even in such difficult conditions. They decided to oppress the population of Ukraine even more, this is an obvious way of terrorist influence, this is an obvious way of provoking society," she noted.
According to Humeniuk, there is currently a decrease in the activity of enemy tactical aviation in the south, but the occupiers are looking for a new, safe frontier to launch guided bombs.
