The Telegraph says Russia is planning a "large-scale offensive" near Kharkiv: Ground forces say story is not credible

The British newspaper The Telegraph published an article claiming that the Russian army is planning a major "offensive" in the Kharkiv region in January 2024. The Ground Forces stated that the article was not worthy of attention.

This was reported by Censor.NET with the reference to LIGA.net.

The newspaper cites unnamed Ukrainian "military intelligence units" and notes that the occupiers are planning a new "large-scale offensive" in Kharkiv region after massive shelling of Kharkiv and the region.

The Telegraph writes that local military intelligence units spoken to by journalists believe that Russian troops may be planning a further increase in air attacks this weekend to coincide with Christmas in Russia, which is celebrated on January 7.

A ground offensive could take place shortly after, with January 15 "being discussed as a possible start date," the source added.

According to Army spokesman Volodymyr Fitio, the journalists "twisted everything" and there is "nothing new" in the rest of the story.

He said that The Telegraph was referring to "some obscure military intelligence units" and the story was "not worth reading."
