War in Ukraine is not only its struggle. It is struggle of whole of Europe and democratic world, - Lithuanian President Nausėda
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine and its fight against Russian aggression.
He said this at a press conference following talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Censor.NET reports.
"We must ensure the continuity of long-term support from allies and partners to help Ukraine. The European defence industry as a whole must step up its game. It should accelerate and respond adequately to the difficult security situation. Lithuania is forming a demining coalition to mobilise military support for Ukraine as efficiently and quickly as possible.
The Western world must understand that this is not just a struggle for Ukraine alone. This is the struggle of the whole of Europe and the democratic world for peace and freedom," he stressed.
Nausėda reminded that in July 2023, important decisions were made in Vilnius to bring NATO and Ukraine closer together.
"The question is no longer if Ukraine will become a NATO member, but when Ukraine will become a NATO member," the Lithuanian leader said, adding that his country would support Ukraine's membership in the Alliance.
