Zelenskyy: Ukraine has no significant gains on front as Russians control sky
Zelenskyy said this at a press conference, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.
"The situation at the front is very complicated, we lack weapons. If the Russians did not control the air and we had enough air defense systems, we would have destroyed their aircraft. We tried it and it works. When you destroy them in the sky, you move forward. There are no significant gains for Ukraine because they control the sky," he said.
The President also noted that the Russian army is now destroying cities to make people flee, as it is afraid of a repeat of the genocide in Bucha or Mariupol.
"They cannot completely destroy the city, because they are really afraid that it will be another Bucha. Another genocide. Because Bucha was genocide. And Mariupol was genocide. Now they don't want to be so "wrong". In their opinion, they are "wrong." This is their statement. That's why we understand that they are hitting cities to make people flee. To destroy everything and then come in," Zelenskyy said.
