There is no evidence of withdrawal of modern weapons provided by United States from Ukraine - Pentagon
Ukraine has provided the United States with full information for accounting and inventory of weapons received as military aid.
This was stated by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"It's important to note that the Ukrainians have offered unprecedented access to information related to the equipment we provide. As such, they fully understand and support our need for accountability," said the US defence official.
This is how Ryder responded to a request to comment on the latest report by the US Department of Defence Inspector General that about 40,000 US weapons provided to Ukraine were allegedly not properly accounted for.
In this context, the Pentagon spokesperson stressed that there is currently "no credible evidence of the illegal withdrawal of modern conventional weapons provided by the United States from Ukraine".
At the same time, he pointed to cases of Russia spreading disinformation with a completely opposite content.
Ryder noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using the provided weapons effectively.
Earlier, the US State Department denied claims that weapons provided to Ukraine could fall into the wrong hands.
