At least 592 civilians were killed or injured by Russian shelling in December - UN

According to Censor.NET with the reference to Ukrinform, this is stated in the report of the UN Monitoring Mission.
As noted, this is a 26.5% increase compared to the previous month.
"The number of reported civilian casualties, some of which are still pending verification, suggests that the increase was even higher. The increase in civilian casualties in December bucks the trend of declining civilian casualties in 2023," the report says.
The UN monitoring mission notes that the increase was mainly due to Russian massive missile attacks on December 29 and 30. According to the mission, missile attacks caused 34% of civilian casualties in December, compared to 16% in November.
