Latvian Foreign Minister Krisjanis Karinš said that despite Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, he does not believe that a major war in Europe is inevitable. Countries should work to strengthen their security.

According to Censor.NET , citing Delfi, Karins said this during a speech in the Latvian Seimas.

The Latvian Foreign Minister called Russia's aggression against Ukraine an "imperialist war" whose broader goal is "to change the international order based on the rule of law and replace it with the rule of brute force."

"Russia is trying to tell us in Latvia and the rest of the Western world in its propaganda that we are split, that we are helpless, that the war is going on, that Russia is winning it, and that there is no point in resistance. And I'll tell you - it's a lie, it's nonsense and stupidity," Karins emphasized.

At the same time, the Latvian Foreign Minister emphasized that it is possible to deter Russia from attacking anyone else in the future.

"It is not inevitable that there will be a big war in Europe, but we can stop it, working, of course, to strengthen our security together with our Western allies," he said.

According to Karinš, Latvia and its allies should help Ukraine to win the war against Russia.
