Slovakia will support allocation of €50 billion in aid to Ukraine and will not create "any obstacles" - Fico

According to Censor.NET, Fico said this during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"I understand that some of our statements may cause controversy. But we are asked to approve 50 billion euros for Ukraine for the next four years. Slovakia agrees and will agree. We will not put up any obstacles," Fico said.
The Prime Minister also recalled that Slovakia did not object to Ukraine's invitation to join the European Union, despite the fact that, in his opinion, the country's preparation was "very low".
"Okay, we also said yes to that and we assume that now there will be accession negotiations, which may take longer, but which must be done. I apologize, but I will publicly present my position as I see it," Fico said.
At the same time, the Slovak prime minister doubts that the war in Ukraine can be ended militarily.
According to Fico, he supports all peace initiatives that exist, as Ukraine is "determined to win only by war".
"So, one thing is concrete support for Ukraine. Without the 'reverse' of gas, which we did as Slovakia a few years ago, we helped Ukraine in this way. Today we also help with humanitarian aid. I think I can still put things in my own words, can't I?" he added.
