Nuclear fuel is about to expire at Zaporizhzhia NPP, which may lead to radiation accident – Energoatom

This was announced by the acting chairman of the board of Energoatom, Petro Kotin, Censor.NET reports.
Further operation of such fuel violates the terms of the technical specifications established in accordance with safety standards and can lead to the destruction of the integrity of fuel elements and, as a result, to a radiation accident.
"The attempts of the invaders to switch ZNPP power units from cold shutdown to hot shutdown in turn further undermine the situation, not to mention the outright violation of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate's licenses for the operation of these nuclear facilities, i.e. both the requirements of Ukrainian and international law," Kotin emphasized.
