Putin will not be able to just sit this war out - Scholz

Russia’s military and political power should not be overestimated.

This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

"Russia is not as strong as people think," he said in a government statement in the Bundestag.

According to him, from a military point of view, Russia's war in Ukraine was "brutal."

But domestically, the chancellor emphasized, the repressive Russian system is showing signs of lacking strength, making it even more important for the EU to stand united and persistently support Ukraine against Russia.

"If the Russian president thinks that it is enough for him to just sit through this war and we will weaken our support, he has miscalculated," the chancellor said.

Germany's assistance

Germany is one of the leaders among the countries that provide assistance to our troops. In particular, Berlin has provided several types of artillery, Leopard tanks of old and new modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, vehicles, drones and other types of weapons.

On March 19, Germany will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine.
