Ukraine is capable of producing 2 million drones year, but additional financial support from West is needed, - Fedorov

Ukraine can increase production of drones to 2 million units per year with additional financial support from the United States and other Western countries.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov in an interview with The Guardian, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, the government of Ukraine "concludes contracts for a much smaller amount than manufacturers in the country are capable of" because the Cabinet of Ministers does not have enough money.
Fedorov noted that Ukraine is now on track to produce more than 1 million drones a year.
"Ukraine can produce 2 million drones a year, which is twice the current level of production, provided that additional financial support is provided by the United States, other Western governments and individuals," the minister said.
Fedorov said that more than 200 companies operate in the drone industry in Ukraine. Of the drones used on the battlefield, more than 90% are made in Ukraine.
"We were able to scale the market so much that we can produce more than one or even two million drones (per year - ed.)," he emphasized.
The minister added that the main problem in the drone sector is financial. Currently, our country lacks financial assistance from the United States.
