Provision on demobilization was removed from government draft law at request of Syrskyi and Umierov. DOCUMENT

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, wrote a letter to Defence Minister Rustem Umierov, suggesting that the demobilisation provisions be considered separately from the government’s law on mobilization.

This was reported by Censor.NET.

The editorial staff has a letter from Oleksandr Syrskyi to Rustem Umierov, in which he emphasizes the need for urgent legislative changes to improve the issues of military service and mobilization and proposes to consider this provision in a separate draft law.

"At the same time, certain provisions of the draft law, given the significant number of People`s Deputies amendments, require more detailed analysis and additional study. Taking into account the above, it is proposed to regulate the issue of grounds for dismissal from military service, as well as the introduction of rotation of servicemen at the legislative level, separately by considering it in another draft law," the Commander-in-Chief's letter reads.

Umierov agreed with Syrskyi's proposal and sent a letter to the Cabinet of Ministers.

"Certain provisions of the draft law, given the significant number of People`s Deputies' amendments, require more detailed analysis and additional study... By taking into account the above, it is proposed that the issue of the grounds for dismissal from military service and the introduction of rotation of servicemen at the legislative level should be regulated separately in another draft law... In view of the above, it is proposed to initiate before the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the issue of the possibility of excluding the above provisions from the draft law and including in the final provisions of this draft law a provision that would provide for an instruction to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to submit a relevant draft law on these issues to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Umierov said.
