Due to procrastination of West, with help, Ukraine spent $4 billion from state budget on weapons - Minister of Finance Marchenko

In the conditions when the weapons and ammunition promised by the partners were in short supply, the government of Ukraine spent 4 billion dollars on the purchase of weapons. This has negative consequences for the budget.
Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhii Marchenko informed about this at the round table of the World Bank and the IMF held in Washington, Censor.NET informs.
He noted that at the beginning of the year, Ukraine found itself in a difficult situation due to an insufficient amount of funding, weapons, and ammunition.
"4 billion US dollars is exactly the amount of money the Government spent on the purchase of weapons, in conditions when there was a lack of projectiles and weapons promised by partners. And this has negative consequences for the budget," Marchenko said.
At the same time, as the minister emphasized, the government managed to maintain financial stability.
"The lack of air defense and missile defense means reduces the country's economic potential," Marchenko emphasized.
He called for speeding up the search for a mechanism for using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
"In order to win, we critically need to equalize military resources with the resources of the aggressor," the minister concluded.
