Sweden does not rule out possibility of transferring Patriot system to Ukraine, - Defence Minister Jonson

Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson said that his country could transfer the Patriot air defence system to Ukraine. However, for now, Stockholm is focused on financial contributions to the German initiative to find an air defence system.
Jonson said this before a meeting of EU foreign ministers and defence ministers in Luxembourg, Censor.NET reports citing the European Parliament.
When asked whether his country would provide the Patriot air defence system, Jonson did not rule it out.
"I do not rule out this possibility, but we are now focused on financial contributions (to provide Ukraine with additional air defence systems)," he said.
According to the minister, Sweden will send other systems that can "relieve some of the pressure" on Ukraine's need for Patriot systems.
He also indicated that after the adoption of the aid package for Ukraine, the United States may increase the supply of air defence systems to Kyiv.
