Ukraine's frigate Hetman Sahaidachnyi to be fully modernized in 2018, - Defense Ministry

"In 2015, the Defense Ministry will come up with the Ukrainian Navy flagman - frigate Hetman Sahaidachnyi modernization project. The necessary funds will be stipulated for in the state defense order for 2016," the authority's statement reads.
As also reported, ministerial experts will shortly meet with representatives of Ukroboronprom (defense industry state concern - ed.), as well as the frigate's officers. Ship's complete reconstruction wiill be carried out in 2018," the Defense Ministry reports.
As already reported, at a meeting of the Cabinet on Sept. 2, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk urged the Ministry of Defense and Ukroboronprom to develop a project this year to modernize the Ukrainian Navy frigate Hetman Sahaidachnyi. According to him, it is also necessary to secure financing of the works in the next year's state budget, as well as financing of construction of four new corvettes at Mykolaiv Ship Building Plant.
