Ukraine not yet ready to join NATO, but should prepare for it, - Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said during joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Censor.NET reports referring to Ukrinform.
"Is Ukraine ready to become NATO's member at the moment? The answer is very simple - no. We have to get ready for it. It is necessary to do our best for Ukraine to become a member of the European Union, and NATO has identical criteria," Poroshenko said.
However, he expressed confidence that NATO's doors have been open for Ukraine since 2008 when Ukraine was given a corresponding signal at the NATO Summit in Bucharest.
"99 percent of reforms in Ukraine meet not only EU standards but also those of NATO, including democratization, fight against corruption, rule of law, investment climate, security and defense sector, etc. We are now firmly and seriously implementing these reforms in our country," the head of state stated.
