Central Election Commission was unable to influence disruption of elections in Mariupol, Commission’s head says
He said this in an interview with LB.ua commenting on the situation that came about in the election commission of Mariupol on the day of voting, Censor.NET reports.
"If we take Mariupol and these local elections in general, the merit of the Central Election Commission is that the rule of law has been reestablished at all times and in all places in a timely manner. Although, being not a law enforcement agency, the Central Election Commission, unfortunately, does not have the tools to respond to the criminal inaction of the individual members of the territorial election commissions. Central Election Commission's special operations detachment does not yet exist," Okhendovskyi said.
It should be reminded that head of the Donetsk regional military and civil administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi has put blame on the Central Election Commission, which did not take position of an unbiased arbitrator in the situation with the local elections in Mariupol.
