Labor Code must not allow discrimination on any grounds, - Poroshenko

Petro Poroshenko said during a meeting with leaders of parliamentary factions, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the head of state.

Commenting on the voting for the Labor Code in terms of employment discrimination prohibition, which is a prerequisite for the abolition of EU visas for citizens of Ukraine, the president declared his support for equal rights for all citizens of Ukraine.

"As a president, as an Orthodox Christian, as a person who has been married for 31 years and loves his wife, the father of four children, I advocate the preservation of family values traditional for the Ukrainian society. But as the guarantor of the Constitution, I am totally against discrimination of any of the Ukrainian citizens on any grounds," Poroshenko said and stressed that the amendment, which had to be voted, concerned labor relations only and had nothing to do with the issues of marriage and family.
