US to conduct trainings for NABU and Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, - Kholodnytskyi

The United States expressed their willingness to hold a series of trainings for investigators of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, starting from the next month.

Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnytskyi announced on Thursday night in Washington, Censor.NET reports referring to Ukrinform.

"We see our American colleagues have a sincere desire to help us, provide technical support, including trainings for NABU detectives and prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office," Kholodnytskyi said after a number of meetings in the U.S. Department of Justice, Department of State, and FBI.

According to him, the first visit of American trainers is scheduled for February.

As noted by Kholodnytsky, at the meetings, the Ukrainian side was also represented by NABU Director Artem Sytnyk and Deputy Prosecutor General Davit Sakvarelidze.

"In fact, we considered the issues of anti-corruption policy - fighting corruption in Ukraine and using the capabilities of our American colleagues that might help achieve real results," Kholodnytskyi explained.

He stressed the meeting "was aimed at deepening of cooperation."
