Justice Ministry sent request to Russia for Savchenko’s extradition but this does not exclude other mechanisms to release Nadiia, Petrenko says

Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has sent a request to the Russian Justice Ministry for the extradition of Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, pilot Nadiia Savchenko although other mechanisms for her return are possible.

This was stated by Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

Asked whether the request has already been sent and how soon Nadiia Savchenko can be returned to Ukraine, Pavlo Petrenko said: "It (the request - Ed.) has been sent and now we are carrying out negotiations."

He also stressed: "We do not exclude that there may be other mechanisms to return her."
