Nuland’s meeting with Surkov on Donbas not meant to yield some results - it was just exchange of views, Putin’s spokesperson says
Spokesperson to the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said, Censor.NET reports citing TASS.
"It (yesterday's meeting held in Moscow - Ed.) was not meant to yield some results. It was a brief exchange of views," he said.
Peskov confirmed that the subject of the conversation between Surkov and Nuland was the situation in the Donbas and implementation of the Minsk agreements. "You know that the United States is not a party to the Normandy format and it was decided to share the first-hand knowledge, to establish the working mechanism of exchange. Such contacts take place just within this mechanism," Putin's spokesperson said.
