"We are doing our best to avoid new rounds of mobilization," - Poroshenko
At present, 30,000 servicemen have signed contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
President Petro Poroshenko said during celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Antonov State Company, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform."So far, we are doing our best to avoid new rounds of mobilization. Why? Because we have significantly raised the salaries of Ukrainian soldiers," the head of state said.
According to Poroshenko, 30,000 soldiers have enrolled in the Ukrainian army on a contract basis since the beginning of the year.
"I am proud that now we have a different army of motivated, well-trained, well-fed, dressed, and armed soldiers. It is no coincidence that I declared 2016 the year of Ukraine's Air Forces, as their renovation and packaging will be based on Antonov's production capacity," he concluded.
