Two police officers killed, one wounded while apprehending man who killed his wife in Ternopil region
As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by press service of the National Police in the Ternopil region.
The tragedy occurred in Babyntsi village of Borshchiv district. A group of police officers who arrived to the scene on-call were attacked by a 45-year-old local resident with firearms.
The police reacted to a phone call by a neighbor who reported the man firing from a shot gun on his yard in the evening of Aug. 22.
When the police arrived, the man continued shooting. He shot one police officer dead and wounded another one. The officer subsequently died from the injuries. Another law enforcer was wounded upon detainment, the police reported.
The criminal was killed on spot.
Later, prosecutor's office of the Ternopil region said the criminal earlier killed his wife with a shot gun shot.
