Red Cross mission arrives in Ukraine to help search for missing persons in Donbas, - Iryna Herashchenko
Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Chairman, representative of the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbas Iryna Herashchenko said on air of ICTV, Censor.NET reports citing the Petro Poroshenko Bloc press service.
According to her, about 500 people are considered to be missing as a result of the conflict in the Ukraine's east.
"Today, the lists of missing persons count for some 500 persons. A lot of people went missing after Ilovaisk," Herashchenko noted.
The parliamentarian called the liberation of captives her key task as a representative of the humanitarian subgroup.
"My objective is to find those missing," the official added.
She also expressed the need to ensure access for representatives of the ICRC mission to the territory of the Donbas to search for missing people.
"The International Committee of the Red Cross mission arrives in Ukraine on Tuesday to discuss these issues," Herashchenko said.
