Head of Ukraine's Accounting Chamber Mahuta suspected of abuse of office, PGO to serve notice of suspicion

Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) is investigating a criminal case against head of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Roman Mahuta.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko and his deputy Nazar Kholodnytskyi at a joint briefing on Wednesday.

Mahuta is suspected of abusing office (paragraph 2 article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) with the purpose of allowing one of the Chamber members privatize corporate housing - a two-room apartment at Poltavska Street in Kyiv. An apartment of this type is worth more than 1.39 million hryvnia ($52,450).

Lutsenko has signed the request to serve a notice of suspicion to Mahuta.
