Сourt extends arrest of former SBU officer Shcheholiev, who led raid against Maidan, until Jan. 15, 2017
His lawyer Valentyn Rybin announced it to Ukrainski Novyny, Censor.NET reports.
"Yesterday, Nov. 16, the court started reviewing the indictment and extended Shcheholiev's pre-trial detention until Jan. 15," he said.
The next meeting is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Nov. 28.
The lawyer says his client will not request a jury trial.
Earlier, the court returned prosecutor's indictment against Shcheholiev twice.
On Sep. 29, 2015, the Prosecutor General's Office completed a pre-trial investigation against former Security Service chief in Kyiv and the Kyiv region Oleksandr Shcheholiev. He is charged with launching an anti-terrorist operation on Feb. 18, 2014 in downtown Kyiv to disperse Maidan protesters, following a criminal order by the then government.
