Captured deserters may be put on prisoner swap list, - SBU's Hrytsak
This was announced by Head of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) Vasyl Hrytsak, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.
"I find it difficult to answer. In theory, anything may happen. But first of all, their fate is to be determined by an investigator in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code and then by a judge," Hrytsak said.
He also said that the arrested deserters had Russian internal passports with them.
As previously reported, the Central district court of Mykolaiv remanded two Ukrainian deserters in a two-month custody.
Earlier, the SBU claimed the apprehension of two former Ukrainian servicemen that defected to the Russian armed forces after the occupation of Crimea.
Odyntsov and Baranov were captured while trying to cross a checkpoint at the border with the occupied peninsula.
The Russian Defense Ministry accused the Ukrainian security services of an alleged illegal apprehension of two Russian servicemen.
