UN SC resolution on critical infrastructure protection to trigger changes in Ukraine’s criminal law, - MP Friz

Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Poroshenko Bloc faction) Iryna Friz believes the recently adopted U.N. Security Council resolution on critical infrastructure protection from terrorist attacks will make Ukraine amend its criminal law.

The lawmaker wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

Friz wrote: "I am convinced that the existing criminal legislation of Ukraine needs to be amended in connection with the adoption of the UN SC resolution No. 2341 on the protection of critical infrastructure from terrorist attacks.

"We have repeatedly faced cyberattacks on critical infrastructure facilities particularly committed from the Russian Federation and third countries on the Kremlin's order.

"The resolution, which was adopted by the U.N. Security Council, in particular stipulates for introduction of criminal liability for the commission of terrorist attacks aimed at the destruction or disruption of operation of the critical infrastructure facilities. Therefore, I am going to register the corresponding bill on amendments to the Criminal Code next week," the MP wrote.
