Police prevented inflicting serious injuries on kidnapped MP Honcharenko, - Odesa region prosecutor

The abduction of people's deputy Oleksii Honcharenko was real, and he was lucky to avoid grievous bodily harm.

Odesa region prosecutor Oleh Zhuchenko said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports.

The prosecutor noted that the kidnappers chose Feb. 23 as a symbolic date known to be Defender of the Fatherland Day in Russia and some other former Soviet countries.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Oleksii Honcharenko was reported to have been kidnapped by unknowns in Odesa.
