According to the source, Fedoruk was released on the evening of Feb. 27. A 5.2 million hryvnia ($191,367) bail was posted as early as Feb. 24. The person who paid the amount remains unknown.
Fedoruk is suspected of committing crimes under article 255 (establishment of a criminal organization), 368 (bribery), 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office) and 240 (violation of rules of protection and use of mineral resources) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
He was arrested during a special operation on July 4, 2016 along with Andrii Borovyk, deputy prosecutor of the Rivne region. On Feb. 15, the Holosiivskyi district court of Kyiv extended Fedoruk's arrest for 60 days, with a $5.2 million hryvnia bail being an alternative.
Fedoruk spent eight months in custody.
