Ukraine to receive visa liberalisation with EU by middle of June, - Yelisieiev
The legal decision on the liberalization of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens can be made as early as mid-June 2017.
This was announced by Presidential Administration Deputy Head Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, Censor.NET reports citing Hromadske."We expect that in early April the European Parliament will draw a line under the visa liberalization issue and take an appropriate decision,'' he said.
''Then the Council of the European Union should make a decision within a relatively short period of time. I expect that by mid-June Ukraine will get a legal decision on the visa-free travel," Yelisieiev said.
According to the diplomat, there are no political obstacles for Ukraine now, and the issue is solely technical and legal.
On March 9, the EP's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs voted in favor of visa liberalization for Ukrainian citizens.
