Poroshenko: “Having received visa-free travel, Ukraine finalized divorce with Russia”

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that upon being granted the visa-free travel, Ukraine finally left Russia and returned home in Europe.
The head of state said in an interview with 1+1 TV channel, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine."I would say that Ukraine finalized today its divorce with the Russian Empire, while we must resign ourselves philosophically to it," he said.
According to him, there will be three freedoms from now on: free movement of goods, funds, and people.
"It's not just about crossing a border without visa, it's about returning Ukraine to its historical position among the European countries," the president said.
He noted that there were certain obstacles inside the country, and even some Euro-optimists have publicly urged the leadership of the European Commission and the European Union not to waive visas for Ukrainians.
Poroshenko added that Ukraine also stumbled upon external obstacles including attempts to mobilize anti-European forces within the EU in order to prevent Ukraine from obtaining visa-free travel.
