Ukraine now has more arguments for EU membership, - Poroshenko

As the visa-free travel for Ukrainians into EU countries entered into force, Ukraine is having more arguments to become an EU member.
As reported by Censor.NET citing Interfax-Ukraine, this was announced by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko."The bigger the progress that we demonstrate on the reforms path, the more arguments I and the Ukrainian people have for a perspective of becoming an EU member. Ukraine is a European country, as article 49 of Rome Statute reads," he said.
The head of state added that Ukraine is "leaving its Soviet past for good" and "returning to the European family."
"More than 4 million Ukrainians have biometric passports. They no longer need any visas, paperwork, fees, lines, and this makes a Ukrainian passport more valuable," Poroshenko said.
On June 11, visa-free short trips for Ukrainians into EU countries have come into force.
