Prosecutor's Office will ask to arrest Huzhva with bail option, - Lutsenko

The Prosecutor's Office will ask the court to arrest Huzhva with a bail alternative, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"I think the prosecutor's office will ask for arrest with a bail option," he said.

The deadline for choosing a restraint measure is June 25, Lutsenko said.

Chief Editor of Strana.ua online news outlet Ihor Huzhva was detained on June 22.

"Based on materials by State Fiscal Service and prosecutor's office of Kyiv, Ihor Huzhva, who demanded and received $10,000 for not publishing some damaging information about an acting politician, has been detained. The investigation possesses video and audio evidence," prosecutor general wrote back then.

Ihor Huzhva has been notoriously known for pro-Russian stance of media he heads, and has been widely known as an owner of Vesti holding, which has been conducting pro-Russian propaganda and covering activities of Russian terrorists and mercenaries.
