Massive artillery strike leaves war-torn Avdiivka without power, - Governor Zhebrivskyi. PHOTOS

The pro-Russian militants launched massive artillery strike against front-line village of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region on Monday afternoon which damaged the power transmission line.

Chairman of the Donetsk military and civil administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

“The Ruscists (an acronym used for Russian fascists – Ed.) bombarded Avdiivka about an hour ago. Chairman of Avdiivka’s military and civil administration Pavlo Malykhin informed me that three projectiles (preliminary examination showed that it was MLRS Grad missiles) hit the area adjacent to the gas distribution station construction site. Besides, the town was left without energy as the power transmission line was damaged. The electricians responded promptly and have already restored the power supply.

“I assure those supporters of the ‘Russian World’ who try to intimidate people and prevent us from establishing peaceful life in Avdiivka: your actions are senseless, although full of cynicism and violence. Avdiivka will be supplied with gas, energy, and water despite your attacks. We have the only response to the Ruscists’ attacks and provocations – stubborn and coordinated efforts of all [utility] services," Zhebrivskyi said.
