A rally in support of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov and other political prisoners unlawfully convicted in the Russian Federation was held in downtown Kyiv.
As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET, the rally organizers said the chairs were arranged on the Mykhailivska Square just as they are usually set up in a theater hall. The chairs had sheets with the names of the Kremlin prisoners attached to their backs including Oleh Sentsov, journalist Roman Sushchenko, Pavlo Hryb and Crimean Tatars persecuted by the occupying authorities in Crimea. Those illegally held in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions were mentioned as well.
The rally was attended by First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Iryna Herashchenko, Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar, members of the writing club Pen who actually organized the rally, Kyiv residents and well-known journalists.
