The Military counterintelligence of the Security Service together with army units neutralized an armed commando group of the so-called "Ministry of Defense" of the LPR during a combat mission in the territory controlled by the terrorists.
It is reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the SBU.
"It has been established that the subversive group was heading out to the ATO forces' positions under the instructions of the head of LPR "intelligence", Russian security service lieutenant-colonel call sign Zmey (Snake). The militants were to gather intelligence on the location of the Ukrainian Special Forces and promptly pass it on to their leader. The forward group of the terrorists was captured by the Ukrainian counterintelligence. Three militants, known as Desant, Partizan and Globus provided information on the whereabouts of the other group members," the statement notes.
The agency states that the Ukrainian security forces seized Kalashnikov guns, F-1 and RGD-5 grenades, and a large amount of ammunition. The enemy's APC was destroyed at the next phase of the operation.
The Investigation Division of the Luhansk region SBU initiated criminal proceedings under Part. 1, Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
