On June 12, 2023, the Russian army attacked the northern region. Ruscists allegedly shelled Kostyantynivka with cannon artillery.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

"A man who was mowing the grass was killed on the football field of a local park. In addition, the occupiers' shells hit the private sector, resulting in shrapnel wounds and abrasions to a 38-year-old man and an 85-year-old woman.
The shells also damaged the facades of private households," the statement said.
