According to the investigation, the detective agency was organised by a former law enforcement officer. Under the guise of a legal services company, he carried out orders to collect confidential information about citizens.
According to Censor.NET, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this in a telegram .
Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the illegal activity of a private detective agency, whose representatives sold information from closed databases of law enforcement agencies, was terminated.
As noted, the head of the detective agency was served a notice of suspicion on the fact of unauthorised sale of restricted information (Part 2 of Article 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The police officer is suspected of unauthorised actions with information processed in electronic computers, automated systems, computer networks or stored on the carriers of such information (part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In order to obtain information from closed databases, the "detective" engaged an active National Police officer who had access to the law enforcement agency's information databases. He provided information about crossing the state border.
It is noted that the cost of services ranged from USD 300. Payment was accepted on a bank card. During the searches at the residences of these individuals, mobile phones with restricted information and bank cards were seized.
At the request of prosecutors, the police officer was suspended from service. Pre-trial restraints have been imposed on the suspects.
