A man who tried to obstruct the movement of Ukrainian army units during the battle for Lyman in Donetsk region was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the SSU press service.
The man was detained in Liman during stabilisation operations in early June this year.
The occupiers remotely engaged him in cooperation. At the behest of the Nazis, he tried to complicate the movement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the battles for Lyman.
"To do this, he secretly scattered screws on the roads of the city, which were used by convoys of Ukrainian defenders. In addition, the offender was collecting intelligence on the location of checkpoints of the Defence Forces and Ukrzaliznytsia facilities. He passed the information to his "contact" - a tank company gunner of the Russian tactical group Kupol, with whom he had previously studied at school.
The communication was maintained through the banned social network Odnoklassniki," the statement said.
During the search, his mobile phone, which he used in subversive activities in favour of Russia, was seized.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the aggressor's accomplice guilty under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration). The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the man admitted during interrogations that he had deliberately scattered screws on the roads to puncture the tyres of Ukrainian defenders' vehicles. For such "loyalty", the occupation administration appointed him an ordinary storekeeper at a local warehouse.
