A notice of suspicion was served on the military commissariat officials over the beating of men in the Ternopil Regional Center.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

Thus, on the evening of 6 October 2023, a grenade launcher soldier, together with two unidentified persons in military uniform, stopped a local resident to check his documents. After they found out that he was a native of the Russian Federation, they offered to take him to the military commissariat.

"When he refused, they hit him several times, forced him into a car, and took him to the TCC. Later, a video was posted on social media showing two lying mobilized men being beaten by the military. The victim was among them.

It was established that the conflict was caused by a misunderstanding between the two mobilized men and the military commissariat officer on duty the day before. Being drunk, they tried to take the weapon from the officer on duty and beat him in the presence of witnesses. This is what caused the suspects to become aggressive. Criminal proceedings have also been registered over this fact," the statement said.

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint and removing the suspects from their positions is currently being decided. They are charged with torture, and the soldier is also charged with unlawful deprivation of liberty (Part 2 of Article 127, Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As reported, a video showing the beating of men in the walls of the Ternopil military enlistment office is currently being circulated on social media. Criminal proceedings have been opened over the incident.
