Mushroom picker decided to take home part of projectile and died from explosion, - police. VIDEO&PHOTOS
In the Zaporizhzhia region, a man found an element of a multiple rocket launcher projectile while picking mushrooms in the forest. He wanted to take it home, but the shell exploded in the man’s hands.
This was reported by the police of Zaporizhzhia region, Censor.NET informs.
A 52-year-old resident of Nesterianka, which is in the "gray" zone, went for mushrooms. In the grass, he found a cluster element of an MLRS projectile and decided to put it in his bag as well. The shell detonated, and the man died.
The tragedy was seen by a friend of the mushroom picker. He called the police.
"Due to the cluster munitions scattered in the grass and other possible explosive traps, the police did not immediately gain access to the body of the killed man," the statement said
The corpse was evacuated only after the area was cleared of mines by sappers.
The police urge citizens to avoid forests, fields, parks, roadsides, destroyed houses and bridges in areas where active hostilities have taken place or are taking place.
If an explosive object is found, it should not be approached or touched. Instead, you need to call the police or the State Emergency Service at 102 or 101.
